Stroll Down the main street and stop into one of Little Italy’s many boutiques. Then fill yourself up on traditional Italian dishes in one of San Diego’s oldest districts.
M Winehouse, a very quaint Wine Bar, sits nestled in the heart of Little Italy. Entrepreneur and owner Ruth Melero followed her dream and opened up a beautiful space with great atmosphere that offers international wine, specialty drinks beers and bubbles for local and tourists alike.
While still a little sleepier than downtown’s Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy’s music scene has grown substantially with the opening of Music Box in the former Anthology space. The venue features three stories with a concert stage, second floor booths and an outdoor patio. Music will span all genres from rock and pop to Latin, bluegrass and R&B.
At Pan Bon they offer traditional Italian dishes- classical in flavor and presentation, and “Everyday” recipes- which are simple, flavorful and affordable samples of authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Pan Bon offers a culinary experience reminiscent of an actual trip to the “Bel Paese”- The beautiful Italian land.
As one of San Diego’s most well-known farmers markets, Little Italy is also a destination for craft goods, artisan foods and specialty items. The marketplace typically offers over 150 booths overflowing with fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs. Guests to the mercato will also enjoy live music and the energy of downtown San Diego just steps from the bay every Saturday.
